Memorial to our son and brother Cristiano J. Birchenough, who sadly passed away 24th June 2008 aged 3 weeks, in tenerife.
Dearly loved brother to Lily, son to Emma & Jason, Grandson to Ann. Nephew to Jan, John, Kevin and Florence. Cousin to Nikki, Chris, Cherrice, Jessica, Nathan, Aaron.
What a blessing you have been, all of us had anxiously waited for your arrival, since the day we found out we were expecting another precious child, now that our plans have changed, know that daddy, Lily and I were proud to have precious time with you,
Now i lay you down to sleep,
I pray the lord your soul to keep.

I heard you crying yesterday,
And felt your heart-sent love.
So I’m sending you this message
Now, from Heaven up above.
You’re wondering if I’ll celebrate
My Birthday (way up here).
I know you’re missing me today
I feel your essence near.
God planned a special day for me,
He told me with a wink.
He’d ordered me a special cake
(It’s Angel food, I think).
Balloons will fill the streets for me,
They float up through the clouds.
And we have lots of friends up here
That make us laugh out loud.
There is a Birthday carousel,
Jewelled horses ride the wind,
With music playing, oh so sweet…
The magic never ends.
I’ve made so many friends, you see
We laugh and play and sing.
We ride our bikes and play jump rope
And sleep in Angel’s wings.
We’ll have our cake and ice cream
And open gifts - SURPRISE!
But we don’t blow out our candles here
Instead, they light the skies.

The tiny rosebud God picked to bloom in Heaven.
The master gardener from heaven above
Planted a seed in the garden of Love,
And from it there grew a rosebud small
That never had time to open at all.
For God in his perfect and all-wise way
Chose this rose for his heavenly bouquet,
And great was the joy of this tiny rose
To be the one our Father chose
To leave earth’s garden
For one on high
where roses bloom always and never die.
So, while you can’t see your precious rose bloom,
You know the great gardener from the upper room
Is watching and tending this wee rose with care,
Tenderly touching each petal so fair.
So think of your darling with the angels above,
Secure and contented and surrounded with love,
And remember God blessed and enriched your lives too,
For in dying your darling brought heaven closer to you.

To my beautiful little boy,
I love, miss and think about you every minute of every day. From the moment you were born we knew you had come to early, but you filled our hearts with love, laughter, smiles and tears in the few short weeks we had the pleasure of seeing you.
You had fought so hard little one, you tried so hard to prove us all wrong, I am glad your big sister was able to see her precious baby brother, like us, she will never forget you and will always love and miss you,
Forever in our hearts and minds.
